CEM Design
Founded in 1981 by Craig Moloney, AIA, LEED AP, in Rockville, Maryland, CEM Design is a full service
architectural and engineering consulting and design firm. Our projects include award-winning commercial,
office, retail, institutional, and industrial facilities design and renovation; custom home design, renovation,
and expansion; multi-unit housing; and historic renovation and adaptive re-use. CEM Design was founded
on the principle that sustainable building design is the responsibility of a committed architect. Each of our
projects is designed to take full advantage of solar orientation, natural beauty, and accessibility.
Energy conservation, application of passive solar design principles, and where appropriate, active solar,
wind, geothermal, and photovoltaic energy alternatives are thoughtfully incorporated into our projects.
